Threads of Hope: 1st Annual Education & Philanthropy Summit 2025

On April 26, 2025, the HiVision Foundation convened “Threads of Hope” — 1st annual Education & Philanthropy & CSR summit dedicated to the imperative of transforming lives through education. Held at the elegant Park Hyatt in Hyderabad, the summit drew a distinguished gathering of philanthropists, corporate leaders, policymakers, educators, and change-makers, all united by a common vision: to bridge educational divides and ignite societal progress.
The evening opened with a poignant address on the catalytic power of education as a force for empowerment. Foundation co-founders Laila Kajani, Aslam Hirani, Dr. Pyar Ali Jiwani, V.S. Ganesh, and Poonam Yarlagadda shared personal reflections on HiVision’s journey—from its modest beginnings supporting nine students in 2015 to uplifting over 1,077 underprivileged scholars across Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. Their narrative underscored a bold mission: to empower 10,000 bright young minds by 2035.

A high-powered panel discussion, moderated by Dia Mirza, UNEP Goodwill Ambassador and acclaimed actor, delved into “The Role of Philanthropy & CSR as a Catalyst for Education.” Panelists included Jayesh Ranjan IAS of the Telangana Commerce and IT Department; Dr. B. Bhaskar Rao, Chairman and Managing Director of KIMS Hospitals; Viraj Malhan, Office Managing Director at Deloitte US-India; and Rekha Srinivasan, CEO of United Way Hyderabad. Through vibrant dialogue, they emphasized urgent collaborative efforts between corporations, communities, and governments to close persistent gaps in access, quality, and infrastructure.
Interspersed with inspiring discourse, the summit spotlighted the symbiotic power of art and advocacy. A live poetic and dance performance—“Tasveer Ki Awaaz”—by poet Iqbal Patni and Kathak exponent Kavita Gulecha mesmerized the audience, illustrating how creative expression can amplify the call to collective giving and societal change.
The highlight of the evening was an intimate fireside chat between Dia Mirza and Sushmita Sen, India’s first Miss Universe. Both luminaries shared heartfelt views on inclusive education and the transformative potential of mentorship. Their conversation, followed by heartfelt interactions with HiVision scholars, reaffirmed the summit’s ethos: that every child deserves the threads of hope and opportunity to weave a fulfilling future.
As “Threads of Hope” drew to a close, attendees departed inspired and resolved to uphold HiVision Foundation’s vision—nurturing young dreams through education, fostering meaningful CSR partnerships, and collaboratively weaving a tapestry of brighter tomorrows for India’s next generation.
